Florida Craftsmen, Inc. is Florida’s only state-wide nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to Florida’s fine craft and design. The 2,000 sf retail store located at 501 Central Avenue, in the center of St. Petersburg’s Cultural District, represents over 250 of the state’s finest artists working in glass, wood, fiber, ceramics, metals, and paper. In addition, three exhibition galleries offer a number of exciting rotating exhibitions that define Florida’s aesthetics and reflect on the State’s most authentic cultural resource. With one of the most unique displays of handmade jewelry available anywhere, ecologically sound furniture designs, functional and sculptural ceramics, and artists representing every corner of the state, this is Florida’s most unique and important fine craft and design destination. While at Florida Craftsmen, don’t forget to visit ArtLofts, an elite community of 21 artists’ studios on the second floor of the Central Avenue address. Look for the red door on 5th Street, right around the corner from the main entrance. Gallery hours: Monday – Saturday 10 am – 5:30 pm. All of Florida Craftmen’s events are free and open to the public.
